Robert Eugene “Bob” Olinger, 94, Warsaw, died at 6:40 p.m., Jan. 2, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, three weeks following Betty, his wife of 71 years.

He was comforted by his family and friends not leaving his side.

He was born Nov. 19, 1922 to Chester and Ethel (Pontius) Olinger in Wabash County. On May 5, 1945 he married Betty Alice (Krichbaum) Olinger in Warsaw. Betty passed away Dec. 12, 2016.

He attended Claypool United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church, Warsaw. Bob was a proud Nipsco employee and retired after 40 years. He then delivered trailers for Franklin Coach Company in Nappanee for 25 years with his cohort Ted Heaton.

He grew up in North Manchester and later moved to Warsaw.

Bob is survived by his brothers, Clifford, Donald, Ronald and Kenneth Olinger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, David Olinger, a daughter, Lynne Olinger. Brothers, Joe, Hirschal, Ruppert, Homer and Loris and sisters, Delores, Dorothy and Cleo.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Grace Village Chaplain Bryan Benjamin and Pastor Bob Jarboe officiating.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6 at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kosciusko County Community Foundation, designated to the Jimmy Baker Diabetes Fund for local diabetes, 102 East Market Street, Warsaw, IN 46580.
