Rose M. Sorg, 77, Plymouth, died Dec. 12, 2016 at her home with her husband and daughters by her side.
Rose was born in Gary, Nov. 18, 1939, to parents Joseph and Rose (Carrico) Valovich, who preceded her in death; two brothers, Junior and Charlie Valovich and sister, Gloria Kotal, preceded her as well.
Rose met her wonderful husband, Charles (Bud) Sorg and they were married Sept. 7, 1957 in Lake Station. They raised two daughters and moved to Plymouth in 1981.
Rose was a very caring woman who took excellent care of her family. She was always trying to find ways to provide gifts and fun stuff for her family, whom she loved dearly. In later years, Rose was not well enough to leave the house, but always made certain that her eye brows, red lip stick, flashy jewelry and perfume were intact.
Rose’s family includes her loving husband, Bud, who took such excellent care of her for many years; daughters: Angel (Sorg) DiGiallonardo and Susan (Sorg) Helms; two son in-laws: Rick DiGiallonardo and Michael Helms; five grandchildren: Allisha (DiGiallonardo) McKibben, spouse Joe; Sara DiGiallonardo, Mary, Kathryn and Matthew Helms, four great grandchildren: Cameren, Alexander, Sophia and Skylar McKibben; brother: Tony Valovich and his spouse Linda; sister: Joan Lee and her spouse Everett; sister: Ruth Blystone; cousin: Bridget Henderson and her spouse Ray, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
She will be incredibly missed by so many friends and family.
There will be a celebration of life reception at Christo’s Restaurant in Plymouth at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14 and a funeral Mass/memorial service will be held at 11:15 a.m. Thursday morning at the Catherine Kasper House Chapel, 9601 North Union Road, Donaldson, with Fr.
