Valley Swimming: Vikings Compete At CMA Invite

CULVER – Tippecanoe Valley’s boys and girls swim teams both finished fifth at Saturday’s Culver Academy Relays.
Valley’s girls finished with 38 points, well behind Rochester’s championship 106 points. The Valley boys were in a tighter standing, finishing with 50 points to where both Plymouth and Rochester each scored 72 points to tie for the Relays title.
Valley had several relays place second. The girls medley relay team of Mayde Fear, Olivia Livengood, Kinzie Prater and Blake McBrier swam a 2:13.43, and the same quartet were runner-up in the 400 free relay with a time of 4:26.21. Fear, Livengood, Kinzie Prater and Katie Prater joined forces to finish at 2:21.70 as runner-up in the 200 backstroke relay.
The Valley boys 400 free relay team of Daniel Alexander, Dakota Prater, Jacob Wagner and Chase Brower were runner-up at 3:53.05 and Zach Hodge finished second in diving at 141.90.
The Valley boys 200 free relay team of Wagner, Cam Tucker, Travis Shull and Mason Stephens were third at 2:04.09, and the team of Stephens, Alexander, Prater and Brower were third in the 200 backstroke relay with a time of 2:27.31.
Valley will suit up again Dec. 14 at home against Manchester.
