Soccer Standouts Earn NLC Honors

A quartet of area players have earned All-Northern Lakes Conference honors in girls soccer this fall.

The Warsaw trio of seniors Meredith Hollar and Erica Gauger and junior Abby Schue were selected for the All-NLC accolades.

Tabbed for conference honors from Wawasee was senior Lexy Blunk.

Warsaw coach Dan Miller was honored by his peers as the NLC Coach of the Year. Miller guided the Tigers to a 3-3-1 finish in NLC play. Warsaw finished 13-5-2 overall and won a Class 2-A sectional championship before losing in the regional final to No. 4 South Bend St. Joseph Saturday.

Warsaw senior Gabby Monroy and Wawasee senior Cassie Martinez were NLC honorable mention selections.

Northridge won the NLC title with a 6-0-1 mark in league play. Concord was second at 6-1, followed by Goshen (4-2-1), NorthWood (4-2-1), Warsaw (3-3-1), Plymouth (2-5), Elkhart Memorial (1-6) and Wawasee (0-7).
