Lakeland Christian Academy Warsaw, Indiana LogoThe Lakeland Christian Academy volleyball team ended its regular season on a high note Saturday by posting two wins.
The host Cougars rallied to defeat Oak Hill 3-2 in the first match played in Winona Lake.
LCA posted the 9-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-20, 15-10 victory in their first match of the day.
The Cougars got strong performances from a host of players in the win.  Jessica Goss had 11 kills and an  ace to lead the way for LCA.  Alisa Gross had two  kills and  one  block, Megan Lang had an ace, Naomi Caron had three kills and one block for the winners.
Kathleen Sands had  two aces, two  kills and four blocks, Hailey Nieveen had two  kills and six assists and two Aces, Maryl Gerst had 15 digs and Julianne Haines had  six digs.  Frani Gerst had 14 kills and  an assist while Paige Price had 11 kills, to go with 27 assists and six aces.
In the second match,  Lakeland Christian Academy beat Trader’s Point 25-20, 25-12 and 25-23.  Jessica Goss had  five  kills, Alisa Gross had three kills Kathleen Sands had three aces and a block solo, Paige Price had five kills, 21 assists and four aces, while Frani Gerst had 18 kills.  The defense was led by Maryl Gerst with 15 digs and Julianne Haines with six digs.
Lakeland Christian Academy ends the regular season at 12-8. The Cougars will play in their first-ever sectional contest at Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Academy on Tuesday at 6 p.m.  LCA faces the host and defending sectional champions Blackhawk Christian in a Class 1-A sectional.
