CULVER – The Tippecanoe Valley wrestling team opened its season by competing in the Culver Academy Super 6 on Saturday.

The Vikings posted a 1-4 mark on the day in the six-team events.

Valley defeated Knox 36-20, while losing to Plymouth (70-6), South Bend Adams (60-21), Triton (48-27) and Culver Academy (65-6).

Tyler Manuszak led the way as he went 3-1 on the day with three pins at 170 pounds.

Isaac Randall was 3-2 for the Vikings with three pins at 160. Chevy Teeter went 3-2 with two pins at 145 and Dylan Warner was 3-1 with one pin at 152. Jacob Eherenman went 3-2 at 113, while Jordan Owens was 1-4 at 138. Jone Humes 1-0 with one pin at 152 and Joseph Irons 0-5 at 182.

Valley will face Triton on Tuesday night.
