Bethel Basketball: Kindig Honored By Conference

Bethel Pilots SportsMISHAWAKA – Nick Kindig is off to a great start to his senior season on the hardwood.

The Bethel College guard was honored for his fine week as he was selected for the first time as the Crossroads League Player of the Week today.

Kindig, a former standout at Tippecanoe Valley High School, helped the No. 16 ranked Pilots to a 3-0 week and 6-0 mark overall by averaging 17.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 1,6 steals per game. Kindig shot 56 percent from the field this week including 52 percent from three-point range.

The Mentone native started off the week with 17 points, five rebounds and three assists in a win over Holy Cross College. He backed that performance up with a career high 27 points, nine assist, and three steals to go along with five rebounds in a 125-84 victory over East-West University. Kindig finished the week with eight points, and five assists in a 119-75 win over Simmons College.

Kindig and the Pilots travel to LaCrosse, Wis. this coming Thursday to take part in the Viterbo University Invitational. The Pilots will face Viterbo University on Thursday, and Cardinal Stritch University on Friday.
