SOUTH BEND – The Lakeland Christian Academy girls basketball team picked up its second win is as many games Friday night.

The Cougars used a strong second-half effort to top host South Bend Career Academy 31-20.

LCA led just 16-12 at halftime before outscoring SBCA 15-8 in the final half.

Melissa Goss had eight points to go with six assists and 10 steals to lead the winners.

Brady Gross had eight points and 10 rebounds for the Cougars. Jess Slone netted seven points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Anna Reimink and Abigail Fishel each scored three points and Heather Plastow added two. Reimink also had eight steals.

LCA, now 2-0, plays at North Miami Saturday night. South Bend Career Academy, which falls to 0-3, plays at Westville Tuesday evening.
