Dear Editor:

On Oct. 3, 2012, our family needed the emergency assistance of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Fire/Rescue EMS, Kosciusko Community Hospital and the Coroner’s office.

While vacationing on Little Barbee Lake, a family member Doug Heck, of Hollansburg, Ohio, suffered a heart attack. The sheriff’s department and EMS responded and transported Doug to the Hospital while rendering aid to try and save his life. Doug did not survive.

On behalf of our entire family we want to thank all who were involved in trying to save Doug’s life, and the continued care and assistance of deputy coroner Michael Wilson for several day’s following this tragic event.

The people of this community should be proud of the people charged with their safety. All made our family feel as if we were a part of their family. For that, we will always be grateful.
