Tippecanoe Valley to Host Survivors of Suicide Loss Day on November 19
AKRON — The Tippecanoe Valley Mental Health Task Force will host an International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 19, in the Tippecanoe Valley Middle School Commons area.
Tippecanoe Valley will be serving as the host site for Region 2, which includes Elkhart, Fulton, Kosciusko, Marshall, Pulaski, St. Joseph and Starke counties. The public is invited to attend.
The event, which is associated with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, will be centered on a loss survivor-focused documentary. After viewing the film, attendees will have the opportunity to break into smaller groups to discuss and process it. Light refreshments will also be provided.
Because of the sensitive nature of the topic, it is requested that small children not attend. The event is free, but registration is required and may be completed at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention website.
