Patricia Joan “Pat” Schoettmer, 75, of Silver Lake, Ind., and formerly of Anderson, Ind., passed away at 3:03 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was born April 21, 1937, in Anderson to John and Martha (Barrett) Liptow. She was a 1955 graduate of St Mary High School, Anderson. On July 27, 1957, she married John A. Schoettmer in Anderson.
Patricia was a secretary at Ninth Street Auto Body Shop in Anderson, and a homemaker.
She was a member of Warsaw Moose Lodge, enjoyed watching sports and was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame. Patricia was also an avid bingo player and was a caring and loving mom, grandma, sister and aunt who had a big heart and didn’t know a stranger.
She is survived by four sons: Tim (Ruby) Schoettmer, Warsaw; Thomas Schoettmer, Anderson; Terry (Susan) Schoettmer, Claypool, Ind.; Todd (Wendy) Schoettmer, Akron, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother: Larry (Sharon) Liptow, Anderson; two sisters: Betty (John) Richardson, Chesterfield, Ind.; and Donna Mahla, Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband: John A. Schoettmer Sr.; a daughter: Theresa Lynn Schoettmer; a son: John A. “Tony” Schoettmer Jr.; and a brother: Jack Liptow.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool, Ind.
