Pierceton — Officers responded to an accident between a Whitko Community School Corporation bus and a vehicle at approximately 2:18 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24.

According to a Pierceton police officer, the bus was stopped in the middle of SR 13 waiting for traffic to clear so the bus driver could make a left hand turn into Pierceton Elementary School.

Driver Jeremy Sherwood, Pierceton, was traveling north on SR 13 and failed to see the school bus in front of him and rear-ended the bus. Sherwood was not injured but was transported to the Kosciusko County Jail for not having a valid drivers’ license.

No children were on the bus at the time of the accident.
