WINONA LAKE — Grace College will host its annual Fun Fest event from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, in the Gordon Recreation Center, 100 Publishers Dr., Winona Lake. The Halloween alternative is free and open to the public. It offers inflatables, face painting, games, food, candy and more. This year, Fun Fest will be themed after Disney’s popular movie, “Zootopia.” Children are invited to wear costumes and come ready for a fun-filled evening.
“Fun Fest is a great way for Grace students and the community to interact and build relationships,” said Kearstin Criswell, coordinator of student involvement at Grace College. “We look forward to supplying a safe, fun fall event for the whole family.”
Fun Fest is planned and executed by SERVE, a student-led service organization at Grace. SERVE provides mentors and tutoring at local elementary schools and facilitates family-friendly community events throughout the year including Fun Fest, Supermarket Sweep (to take place Nov. 16) and Night Market (to take place Dec. 9).
Over 50 Grace students will volunteer in a variety of roles to make this year’s Fun Fest a success. Hannah Treadway, a graduate student at Grace, is responsible for volunteer recruitment and event oversight. “I’m thrilled to help execute Fun Fest this year,” she said. “We are going to have a lot of fun making ‘Zootopia’ come alive for kids and families. The student volunteers are really looking forward to serving the community and welcoming everyone to campus for Fun Fest.”
