HAMLET — The Triton volleyball team took the first step in its postseason journey Thursday night. The Trojans swept North Miami 3-0 to advance in the Oregon-Davis sectional quarterfinal.

The Trojans did not struggle much with the Warriors, a squad that finishes the season with a 23-10 record. Triton won 25-16 in game one, 25-21 in game two and closed out its opponent 25-13 in the third set.

Hannah Wanemacher led the Trojans with 37 assists. Nicole Secrist led the team with 18 kills, Courtney Jennings added 12. Charlotte Morris tallied six blocks to lead the team while Secrist added four. Quinn Downing posted eight digs.

Triton will play South Central in Saturday’s second semifinal, starting at 11:30 a.m. Culver and Oregon-Davis play in the day’s first semifinal. The winners of each match will meet in the title game at 5 p.m.
