WARSAW — A fifth grade class at an area school is taking part in fall activities while bringing joy to people in the community.
Brittany Tadesse’s fifth grade class at Warsaw Christian School, comprised of 14 students, painted a total of 30 pumpkins for residents at Mason’s Health and Rehabilitation Rehab center on Oct. 19.
While this is the first year for the pumpkin painting event was held at Warsaw Christian school, it’s the second year that area kids have painted pumpkins for residents at Mason’s.
Last year, James Woodcox who works with Home Helpers had a station for kids to paint pumpkins at the “Arttober” First Friday.
This year, Woodcox considered a venue change for painting pumpkins. So this year, kids were able to paint the pumpkins in their own classroom. He felt in this setting, “The kids would be little more relaxed.”
While the kids will not be delivering the pumpkins to residents this year, Woodcox explains he is working to find a way that kids can be a part of the delivery process.
Woodcox will be delivering the pumpkins to Mason residents next week.
