The following people were booked in the Kosciusko County Jail:
Students from Triton Elementary School visited the YMCA on a youth fitness field trip which included multiple stations teaching health, fitness and fun. At this station, Tracy Frick, director of healthy living, left, teaches the students how to be superheroes with nutrition and learning CPR. Participants in many of the YMCA fitness programs must complete all of the tasks in order to receive the prize.
The first year only five individuals took part in the program with two choosing to run in the 5K. Last year 25 individuals signed up for the program and nine competed in the 5K. This year 19 people have already pre-registered and many will have registered the first day of the program, May 8. Pictured are a group of participants getting ready to begin their first day of the Couch to 5K program. After choosing to run a 5K in Syracuse last year as opposed to Warsaw, McClellan noticed a higher turnout, likely because they train in Syracuse. This year she is also hoping to get a separate walking coach. This exercise can be done anywhere, anytime and does not require a membership.
