Lester ‘Junior’ Dotson, 76, of Akron, Ind., passed away at 6:40 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at Woodlawn Hospital Rochester, Ind.

He was born on Aug. 10, 1936, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Lester and Gladys (Prater) Dotson. He was married Dec. 20, 1955, in Macy, Ind., to Nancy Shafer, who still survives at home.

Lester was a Millwright for over 48 years. He was a member of the Indiana/ Kentucky/Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters Millwright Local 1076. Lester enjoyed tinkering and working on various things. He was an avid mushroom hunter and also enjoyed Country and Western music.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters: Sharon (Ronnie) Conley, Akron; Karen Tyler, Evansville, Ind.; Wendy (Tom) Ellet, Roann, Ind; four grandchildren: Ryan Dotson, Brook Stevens, Caitlin Ellet and Renessa Ellet; five great-grandchildren: Brianne Zeiger, Miranda Dotson, Alexyss Dotson, Colton Dotson and Kaydence Stevens; and two sisters: Evalee Hill, Dayton, Ohio; Ethel Johnson, Akron.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 15, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron.
