Mary Baldwin (Friskney-Criswell), 92, Kendallville, passed away on Friday, Sept. 30, 2016 at Sacred Heart nursing home in Avilla.

Mary was born at Green Center, Noble County to the late John Arthur and Bernice (Smith) Friskney. She graduated from Van Wert in Ohio and retired from Duo-Therm in LaGrange. She married Leon Baldwin of Saginaw, Mich. in 2000, they resided in Zephyrhills, Fla. until moving to Kendallville in 2014, he survives. She also had been married to the late Richard Criswell of Rome City for 53 years until his passing.

Mary was a woman with a strong conviction for life, pride, strength and the sense of responsibility to her family and friends. Her life was an accomplishment for all to admire.

Also surviving are two daughters: Lynn (Jerry) Johnson of Albion; Brenda (Barry) Steffe of Ligonier; her son; Randy Criswell along with his companion JoAnn of Topeka; sister-in-law: Lois Friskney of Kendallville; two step-daughters: Patti (Randy) Smith and Linda (Darrell) Falconer of Saginaw, Mich.; nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents: John and Bernice Friskney; two sons: Roger and Terry Lee Criswell; two daughters: Linda Criswell and Denise Ferrier; five brothers and two sisters.

A Celebration of Mary’s life will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the Brimfield United Methodist Church with Pastor Christopher White officiating. Burial of cremated remains will follow at Orange cemetery in Brimfield.
