WARSAW — Despite the rain, the bicentennial parade went on as planned this morning at 10 a.m. Ponchos and umbrellas were a common sight among both the floats and audience members.
The parade, which began at Boggs Industrial Park and ended at the fairgrounds, held a history theme. The floats were separated by signs designating different decades in Indiana’s history. The floats and antique cars filtered into the parade in their designated time frame.
The bicentennial celebrations didn’t stop at the conclusion of the parade. Kids activities, inflatables, a car show, antique tractor display and a quilt show will continue all day at the fairgrounds. A balloon glow will take place at dusk.
At Lakeview Middle School, The Journey to Mars Begins Here, a NASA presentation takes place at 4 p.m. Ty Herndon will also be performing in the auditorium at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m.
