WARSAW — How might the YMCA use its resources and skills to ease the need for childcare in Kosciusko County?  That’s the question being asked by a current comprehensive childcare study.

The YMCA was recently awarded with a Toolbelt Grant of $17,000 by the Dekko Foundation and a $3,000 Lilly Unrestricted Endowment Fund Grant from the Kosciusko County Community Foundation to conduct a comprehensive childcare study to assess opportunities for an early learning center. The goal of the study is to gain the necessary information to determine the best role for the YMCA within the current childcare need, so that the Y can serve children in the best interest of the community.  Results of the study should be concluded by the end of 2016.

The Y is the leading nonprofit committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. All the efforts and offerings of the Kosciusko Community YMCA are guided by the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Every day, the Y works side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure everyone regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.  Through Aug. 2016, the Kosciusko Community YMCA has provided $100,845 in financial assistance to make sure that happens.
