
WINONA LAKE — The Village at Winona’s take on Germany’s oldest tradition, Oktoberfest.
It kicks off on Saturday, Oct. 1 with a German car show at 10 a.m. along East Canal Street. Hay rides and kids activities also start at 10 a.m. and will be close to the gazebo in the brick alley. A beer sampling tent will then open at noon and go until 4 p.m. with beers from 3 Floyds, Chapman’s, Dogfish Head and Lagunitas Brewing. Also starting at noon in the beer tent will be the Heartland County Cloggers of Northern Indiana, followed by the Meister Winds German band from 1 to 3 p.m.
The event is free with the exception of tickets to the beer sampling. Those are being pre-sold online for $15 but will be $25 the day of at the door.
