James “Jim” D. Herrin, 77, Plymouth, and formerly of the Argos community, died at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 25, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth. Jim had been in declining health for the past couple of years.
On April 30, 1939, in Argos, he was born to Iley J. Herrin and Violet M. (Archambeault) Herrin. Jim had lived most of his life in the Argos Community.
Jim had shared the past 23 years with Bobbie (Reynolds) Keller-Hasko.
He was a restaurant manager having worked for Dobb’s House-Airline Catering in Atlanta, Ga.; and United Inn’s in Atlanta, Ga. and Houston, Texas.
Jim was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1957. After high school Jim joined the United States Air Force on June 13, 1957, and on June 12, 1961, Airman 2nd Class James D. Herrin earned his Honorable Discharge. He was a member of the James Lowell Corey – American Legion Post #68, Argos.
Jim is survived by his partner: Bobbie Keller-Hasko, Argos; son: Jeff (Amey) Herrin, McDonough, Ga.; daughter: Jennifer (Joel) Fox, Avon; three grandchildren; and a sister: Ila Warner, Delton, Mich. He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister: Mary Jo Stephenson.
Friends may visit with the family from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, Argos, with Chaplain Sunday Adelakin of Heart to Heart Hospice officiating Jim’s Memorial Service. Military Services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at the James Lowell Corey American Legion Post #68, Argos. The United States Air Force Honor Guard and the Argos American Legion Honor Guard will be conducting Military Honors.
