WARSAW — An OWI car chase that crossed over Indiana and Michigan state lines Saturday evening landed a Warsaw man behind bars.
Cory Thomas, 39, of Warsaw, faces fleeing and eluding, resisting and obstruction, OWI, possession of marijuana and open intoxicants charges.

It all started around 11:20 p.m. in Branch County Michigan on I-69. A Michigan State Trooper spotted a vehicle speeding and misusing the lanes near Stokes Road on I-69 southbound.
The officer tried to pull him over, but Thomas didn’t stop. He led troopers on a high-speed chase and went the wrong way on I-69. He ended up going through the bordering fence and led officers on an off-road chase for several miles.
Thomas eventually crashed into a large drainage ditch. Police say Thomas took off on foot to a wooded area to hide from officers. That’s when Michigan police called in a K-9 to track him.
He was eventually found nearby and was taken into custody.
