WARSAW — A brewery and restaurant is another step closer to moving into the Leesburg Mill after the Kosciusko County Commissioners meeting.
On Tuesday, Sept. 20, the Kosciusko County Commissioners approved the rezoning of the property the Leesburg Mill is on. Leesburg has dis-annexed the Leesburg Mill from the town because there were no more liquor licenses availble in the town.
When the building was dis-annexed, the property became a no zoning area. Now, the property will be a commercial zoning area that will allow for a brewery and restaurant to reside in it.
Robert Cunningham spoke on behalf of KABS. Cunningham gave the commissioners a brief summary of how KABS has done this year. During the fiscal year of 2016, KABS has given 49,429 rides. Last year at this time, KABS had given 47,672 rides. After eight months of being understaffed, KABS is now fully staffed.
The Commissioners approved a petition to vacate a public way in the Roy Hohman Subdivision on Yellow Creek. They also approved a petition to vacate an unimproved roadway in the Woodland Hills Addition.
