Carl MethenyCarl A. Metheny, 93, of rural Bourbon, Ind., passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Bremen Community Hospital, Bremen, Ind.
Carl was born to Roscoe and Edna Sellers Metheny on Dec. 31, 1919, near Bourbon. He was a lifelong resident but spent many winters in Sebring, Fla. He joined in marriage to Norma Jean Hudson on Dec. 9, 1951. She preceded him in death June 29, 2008.
Carl was a 1937 graduate of Bourbon High School, was a longtime business owner of Metheny Elevator and was a farmer. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Bremen Missionary Church and attended the Bourbon First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his two children: Diane Metheny Horn and David (Lorie) Metheny, all of Bourbon; two grandchildren: Taylor and Tarann Metheny, also of Bourbon; and two sisters: Doris (Robert) Kepler, Culver, Ind.; and Betty (Cliff) Stevenson, Bourbon.
He was preceded in death by his brother: Clarence Metheny.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Gary Hinkle of Bremen Missionary Church and Rev. Stormy Scherer-Berry of Bourbon First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Bourbon.
