Tippecanoe Valley’s netters shut out visiting LaVille, 5-0, Thursday afternoon.

The two doubles team of Dylan Sponseller and Chris Schipper pitched a shutout against Kenny Cramer and Zach Rutherford while the one doubles counterparts of Dakota Parker and Garrett Feldman beat Conner Carlisle and Sam Contreras 6-3, 6-2.

At one singles, Keith Wright took care of Jordan Karczewski 6-2, 6-2, Seth Hoffman won the two singles matchup against Shawn Horne 6-0, 6-2, and Eric Wright closed out the three singles matchup against Doug Cashen 6-2, 6-3.

The Vikings (2-4) will host Triton next Tuesday.

Girls Golf

Valley golf may have turned a corner Thursday in its dual against Southwood, firing its best team score of the season. The girls posted a 202, four better than Southwood’s 206, with four of its top five shooting a season-best score.

Victoria Biddle was one of the four to shoot a PR, firing a 43 at the Round Barn course. Blake McBrier (51), Jordan Krotke (56) and Bethany Johnson (56) all hit the high mark. Makayla Sandbakken shot a 52, not a PR, but helped in the team scoring.

Southwood’s Dayna Dale posted the medalist round, shooting a 40. Katie Springer had a 52, Chloe Kindall had a 56 and Lorynn Hunt had a 58.

Valley (5-11) will compete in Saturday’s Culver Academy Invite at Swan Lake.

Volleyball

Maconaquah started out hot and held on to defeat Tippecanoe Valley, 3-1, Thursday in Three Rivers Conference volleyball.

The Braves won game one, 25-8, and game two, 25-23, with Valley rallying for a 25-19 win in game three. Maconaquah closed out the match with a 25-20 fourth.

Emily Peterson assisted on 34 points, with Sophie Bussard posting 11 kills. Abby Betten had two aces and Olivia Trippiedi dug 18 attempts.

The Valley JV beat Maconaquah 25-6, 25-11, led by Amy Baca’s six kills. Sarah Myers had seven assists, Rachael Randall had three aces and Marlea Myers dug four attempts.

Valley (6-4, 1-2 TRC) will try to right itself Saturday at the Garrett Tourney.
