MILFORD — Ryan T. Marshall, 20, Donna Street, Leesburg, appeared to have minor injuries if any following a one-vehicle accident on CR 900N at 7:27 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30. The accident report indicates a possible eye injury.

Marshall, who could not exit his vehicle due to the damage to the driver and passenger doors, was able to get out of his vehicle after Milford firefighters used the JAWS to pry open the driver’s door.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputy Mike Mulligan reported Marshall was eastbound on CR 900N, west of SR 15, when the vehicle drifted off the north side of the roadway and struck a utility pole. The vehicle rolled over and came to rest on its top. Marshall told police when the vehicle dipped off the edge it sucked him into the ditch.

A witness to the accident stated he saw the vehicle just start to drift off the road and it appeared after the driver may have fallen asleep. Marshall had told the witness he was on his way home after a 19-hour shift.

Damage to the REMC pole, corn owned by Fred Beer and Marshall’s 2009 Pontiac was estimated up to $25,000.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Milford Fire Department and Lutheran EMS responded.
