Liane Saovongxay, 86, Leesburg, passed away Aug. 25, 2016, at his home.

He was born Jan. 13, 1930, in Vientiane, Laos. He was married to Phengdy Saovongxay, who preceded him in death in 2000.

He served in the Royal Laos Army from 1950 through 1973 as a mechanic and driver. He left Laos Dec. 24, 1979 and entered a refugee camp Jan 29, 1980. He became a permanent U.S. resident Oct. 8, 1980. He worked for Veada Industries from 1983-1995.

He is survived by two daughters: Somphiane (Thony) Sriratanakoul; and Hatsady (Ben) Sengvixay; a son Lamthiane (and spouse Alisha) Saovongxay; and six grandchildren: Tinoy Sriratanakaul, Michelle Litzau, Sydney and Nicole Sengvixay and Victoria and Cookie Saovongxay.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford.
