Jack Earl Lutz, 84, Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016, at I.U. Health Goshen Hospital.
He was born March 3, 1932, in Muncie to Fred and Mabel Lutz.
Jack retired at age 65 from Hull Lift Truck, Elkhart; as well as worked at Midwest Towel, Muncie.
A U.S. Navy veteran, Jack served in Tokyo and the Philippines. He was an avid Cubs and Steelers fan. Jack was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Jack is survived by his wife of 60 years: Emma Marie (Brower); four children: Steve (Sue) Lutz, Eaton; Karen (Ed) Hull, Marana, Ariz.; Jack (Patience) Lutz, Wakarusa; and Scott (Kim Bailey) Lutz, Bremen. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Austin Lutz; Earl and Miranda Hull; Mindy and Wade Free; Joanne and Chad Werker; Christine and Michael Chrepta; Tory Lutz; Heather; Frazier; Kim; and Bryan Gibson; and Nicholas Lutz; many loved great-grandchildren; and a sister: Helen Hartley, Muncie. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by grandsons: Chad; and Shawn Lutz; a brother: Bob Lutz; and a sister: Betty Barnell. Jack leaves behind many friends and a very special family who was always there to help: Darci Lutz; Dan Weldy; and Ava Weldy; Floyd and Freda Bird; Bill and Debbie Brower; and Martha Loyd, all of Muncie.
There will be a private celebration of life. Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory, Goshen.
