Triton Tennis: Rain Halts Marian Invite

MISHAWAKA – Mother Nature wagged the finger of dissent Saturday.

Rain halted played Saturday during the Mishawaka Marian Boys Tennis Invite, with the Trojans only able to complete one match.

Triton’s only action went against South Bend Riley, which ended in a 3-2 Trojan win over the Wildcats. Pacing Triton were wins at one and three singles, where Mace Eads won 6-0, 6-2 and Carter Kuntz won 6-2, 6-0. In the two doubles match, Triton’s Chase Butler and Tyler Heckaman won 6-2, 6-2.

One doubles of Keygan Moiser and Grant Eib lost 6-4, 6-4 and two singles Aaron Stichter lost 6-1, 6-7 (5), 8-10.

The second round matchup against Marian was suspended. No word was given on whether the tournament would carry on at a further date.

Triton (1-3) plays again Tuesday when it hosts North Judson.
