Susan L. Langohr, 69, rural Columbia City, died at 1:59 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016.

She was born Oct. 5, 1946 in Wolf Lake, a daughter of Robert H. and Alice M. (Johnston) Hood. Her formative years were spent in Columbia City. She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1965.

On Oct. 23, 1965 she was united in marriage to Timothy F. Langohr. They made their home in Columbia City until 1988 when they moved north of town. In 1993 they moved to their home on the Johnston Homestead farm.

Susan worked for Williams Supermarket and retired with 28 years of service from Whitley County Circuit Court as bailiff.

Her memberships included First Presbyterian Church.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Tim; two sons, T.I. (Shirley) Langohr, Columbia City; and Chad A. Langohr, Huntington; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two sisters: Barbara Miller, Columbia City; and Mary Ellen Smith, Fullerton Calif.

There will be no visitation or service. A private celebration will be held at a later date.

Preferred memorials are to Humane Society of Whitley County.

Arrangements are entrusted to Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
