BOURBON – Triton opened the new Gayle Perry era with a resounding win Monday night, beating John Glenn 25-12, 25-19, 25-9 in volleyball at the Trojan Trench.

Perry, returning to coach the program she guided for 20 years ending in 2007, saw her team excel against a usually stout Glenn side.

Hannah Wanemacher led the Trojans with 12 assists and four aces while Nicole Sechrist had 10 kills, 10 digs and three aces. Quinn Downing added 11 digs and Charlotte Morris had one solo and four assisted blocks.

Triton (1-0) visits Oregon-Davis Thursday.
