FORT WAYNE – Ruddy Giron, Carlos Belen, Brad Zunica and Peter Van Gansen recorded three hits each, as Fort Wayne beat the Bowling Green Hot Rods 13-5 on Friday.

Giron doubled and singled twice, scoring three runs. Belen homered and singled twice, scoring three runs while also driving in three.

Fort Wayne had a pair of big innings in the blowout victory, scoring five runs in the first inning and six in the seventh.

In the first, Zunica and Van Gansen hit two-run singles, while Jose Carlos Urena hit a two-run single and Tyler Moore hit a two-run double in the seventh.

Fort Wayne starter Emmanuel Ramirez (2-0) picked up the win despite allowing three runs and six hits over five innings. Opposing starter Tyler Brashears (6-1) took the loss in the Midwest League game after allowing seven runs and eight hits over 2 1/3 innings. Elvin Liriano pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings for his fourth save of the season.

Landon Cray doubled twice and singled, driving in two runs for the Hot Rods.

Fort Wayne and Bowling Green meet again Saturday night at 7 p.m.
