Cheyenne Stewart, 60, South Whitley, died at 11:28 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born June 2, 1956 in Columbia City, a son of Eugene H. “Whitey” and Pat (Cook) Stewart. His formative years were spent in South Whitley and Larwill. He graduated from Whitko High School. He also graduated with a Bachelor degree in Engineering from Ivy Tech.

In 1981 he began his employment with Gripco in South Whitley, transferring and currently with Stanley Black & Decker in Montpelier.

On Oct. 23, 1981 he was united in marriage to Barbara M. Calhoun. They have always made their home in South Whitley.

Cheyenne was also a motorcycle safety instructor for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Fort Wayne.

His memberships included ABATE, NRA and Indiana Patriot Guard Riders.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Barbara; four sons: Steve Patton, Silver Lake; Doug Patton, Columbia City; Jeremiah (Megan) Stewart, Fort Wayne; and Jason (Lindsey) Stewart, Stewart, Fla.; six grandchildren, Kaleb Patton, Katlyn Patton, Tyler French, Peyton Eugene Stewart, Joslyn Rose Stewart and Brooklyn Patton; a great granddaughter, Madelyn Halsey; his step mother, Alice Stewart of South Whitley; a sister, Linda Marlowe of Atlanta, Ga.; and a brother, Larry Stewart, Missouri.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Patton.

The funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley with visitation from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday.
