LEESBURG — Children who participated in the Leesburg United Methodist Church vacation Bible school, from July 24-28, received a backpack filled with school supplies on the last day.
This year’s Bible school theme this year was Everest: Conquering challenges with God’s mighty power. There were 59 children, ranging from preschool to sixth grade, who participated in games, crafts, science and Bible stories. The children were put into groups and were at each station for 20 minutes and made picture frame refrigerator magnets, learned how to make snow and heard Bible Stories.
On the last day, the children got to pick their own backpacks that held: Washable markers, crayons, colored pencils, folders, loose leaf paper, and a pencil cash with various school items.
