WARSAW — Police responded to an accident on the intersection of Columbia Street and Winona Avenue at 8:15 p.m., Tuesday, July 26.

Valesca A. Aguilar, 18, Ivywood Drive, Warsaw, was driving a 2015 Nissan Ultima south on South Columbia Street. Aguilar noted she was not paying attention and consequently did not see the stop sign at the intersection Winona Avenue. John R. Canan, 85, Camelot Drive, Winona Lake, was driving a 2011 Chevy Impala west on West Winona Winona Avenue.

Canan did not have a stop sign and continued to go through the intersection, as did Aguilar. Because Aguilar did not stop, Aguilar’s vehicle hit the rear of Canan’s vehicle.

Canan’s vehicle spun around and hit a street sign.

No one was injured in the accident. Damage is estimated up to $10,000.
