NICE, FRANCE — At least two of the more than 80 people killed in Thursday’s attack in Nice, France, were Americans.

Texan Sean Copeland and his 11-year-old son, Brodie, were victims of the Bastille Day attack.

The family lives just outside of Austin, Texas, in the town of Lakeway.

According to local media reports, Brodie played youth baseball and his father was a coach.

In a statement the family said: “We are heartbroken and in shock over the loss of Brodie Copeland, an amazing son and brother who lit up our lives, and Sean Copeland, a wonderful husband and father.”
