INDIANAPOLIS — An oil painting titled “Studio Arrangement” by local artist Steve Creighton has been juried into the Hoosier Salon’s 92nd Annual Exhibition on display at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center at 450 W. Ohio St. in Indianapolis in August.  After the show closes in September, the exhibit’s works will be divided into groups and will be on tour in five cities throughout the state.

Creighton grew up in the Warsaw area, majored in Art and business at Valparaiso University as an undergraduate.  He continued his art education with graduate art courses at Indiana University.  His studio is in Warsaw and his paintings are held by collectors from coast to coast.

The Hoosier Salon Annual Exhibition is Indiana’s longest-running art exhibition of paintings and sculptures.  The annual exhibit is not only a competitive annual exhibition but also a venue for artists’ workshops and a permanent gallery for members to exhibit in Indianapolis, New Harmony and Wabash.  To be eligible to enter the exhibit, artists must be Indiana residents or have lived in Indiana for at least a year and be a Hoosier Salon member.

Hoosier Salon originated in 1924 and was established to inspire Indiana artists to develop their talent, call attention to artists who immortalize Indiana’s beauty, characters and history, and to furnish an outlet and profitable market for the state’s artists.  Exhibition viewers see the best work of Indiana’s most established artists and discover new talent previously unknown.  For more information, visit their website.
