NORTH WEBSTER — A Cromwell man is facing charges after being caught dealing meth at a children’s ballgame in North Webster.

Scott Allen Baldwin, 33, 9893 E. King Arthur Trail, Cromwell, is being charged with a level 3 felony of dealing in methamphetamine enhancing circumstances; a level 5 felony possession of meth enhancing circumstances and a level 6 felony possession of two or more chemical reagents or precursors with intent to manufacture a controlled substance.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, on June 23, Baldwin sold 1.1 grams of meth to an unknown individual at the North Webster baseball park where children were playing a game.

After Baldwin sold the meth to the individual he was arrested. Warsaw Police Officer R.J. Nethaway used his K-9 partner to conduct a free open air search of Baldwin’s vehicle and was alerted to the presence of illegal drugs.

Baldwin admitted there was paraphernalia in the vehicle’s glove box. When officers searched the vehicle they located chemical reagents known to be used in the manufacturing of meth. Officers also found a handgun.

Baldwin was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail with a bond of $20,250 surety and cash.
