NAPPANEE — A Nappanee woman was taken to Bremen Hospital following a rear-end accident on SR 19, north of West CR 1050N. The accident was at 3:13 p.m. Wednesday, June 8.

Donna L. Hunsberger, 47, Meadows, Nappanee, complained of pain to the neck.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Officer Rick Shepherd reported Jeffery T. Short, 39, North Broadway Street, Mentone, was northbound on SR 19 in his 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. He stated he did not see Hunsberger’s stopped 2004 Ford Econoline van. Short’s vehicle struck the back of the van. Hunsberger had stopped the van, waiting to turn left into the parking lot at L&M Foods.

Short sustained a small abrasion to his hand from the air bag deployment, but refused medical treatment.

Nappanee Fire Department and Nappanee EMS along with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded.

Damage was estimated up to $10,000.
