INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association honored softball players and coaches from around the state with its All-District coaches and North and South All-Stars.

Triton head coach Steve McBride was named Class 1-A District 1 Coach of the Year. McBride led Triton to its fourth straight sectional title this past season and a 16-12 record overall. The Lady Trojans have won five sectional titles in school history, all under McBride, and won its first regional title in 2014.

Fairfield skipper John Skibbe was named the Class 3-A District 2 Coach of the Year. Skibbe, longtime front man for the Lady Falcons, guided Fairfield to a 19-7 mark this past season and a regional appearance. Skibbe was at the helm when Fairfield went to its only semi-state in 2013 and has three sectional titles to his name, the only three in school history.

The North All-Stars have plenty of area representation.

Rochester’s duo of Alexa Holland and Becky Malchow and Fairfield’s Lairen Miller are among the stars. Joining on the team is Chelsea Huppert of Bremen, Concord’s Mackenzie Loge, South Bend Riley’s Nichole Kirkpatrick, and Penn’s duo of Halle Hixenbaugh and Alyssa Griman.
