A North Webster man found early Sunday to be suffering from severe alcohol poisoning is today listed in serious but stable condition at Kosciusko Community Hospital.

Bradley Martin Wine, 28, was found by police at 8:26 a.m. yesterday when they were called about a disabled or abandoned vehicle in the road on CR 250 East at LaPoint Drive near Milford.

Upon arrival, a Syracuse Police officer and a deputies from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, found Wine to be incoherent and his condition was rapidly deteriorating.

Officers called for an ambulance which transported Wine to Kosciusko Community Hospital where it was determined his blood alcohol concentration was at .548 percent. According to the KCSD, studies suggest BAC levels of .50 percent or greater are usually fatal. Indiana’s current legal level of intoxication is .08 percent.

Investigating officers believe Wine ran out of gasoline and continued to consume alcohol inside his vehicle.

Information obtained at the scene along with blood lab test results will be sent to the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office for potential charges related to the incident. Wine has two prior alcohol-related convictions.

Wine has several arrests and convictions on his record including those for probation violation, failure to appear, refusal to submit to chemical testing, operating while intoxicated, public intoxication, and D felony burglary.
