WARSAW — Adam Lee Morton, 36, 928 E. Northfield Blvd., Murfreesboro, Tenn., was taken into custody by the Warsaw Police Department, Saturday, June 4, on four counts of child solicitation, a level 5 felony; possession of child pornography, a level 6 felony; and three counts of dissemination of matter harmful to minors, a level 6 felony.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, on March 10, 2015, Warsaw Police Officer Justin Curtis spoke with a staff member from the Warsaw Community Schools corporation concerning four freshman girls and one middle school girl, who were communicating with someone they thought to be a 19-year-old boy named Josh Black from Tennessee, but in reality ended up being 36-year-old Morton.
One of the five girls threatened to harm one of the other girls over a Facebook post, as she and another girl thought Morton, as Black, was their boyfriend.
The girl who was threatened said she’d been in contact with Black on Facebook from Feb. 29 to March 13, 2015, as a friend of another girl. She also stated Black introduced her to an online friend, a 19-year-old boy named Rob White, who was also Morten. The two began an online relationship.
The young girl who had the online relationship with White said he had sent her two pictures of his genitalia. When White requested nude photos from her she declined, but she does admit they did engage in “cybersex.” She told Warsaw Police Officer Jordan A. Foreman that she knew another of her friends had sent nude photos to Black. The young girl also stated she had talked on the phone with White on three occasions.
One of the girls received a message from Morton, who said he was 17 years of age. The girl told him she was also 17 and girl admitted that on March 4, 2015, she and Morton participated in “cybersex.” Morton told the girl he had sent a “naughty” photo, but she never received it. Facebook had denied the delivery of the photo, which was of a nude male, and deleted.
Foreman then spoke with another girl who told him she had begun a conversation with Morton in March of 2015. Morton, also told her he was 17. The girl sent Morton a nude photograph of herself, but Morton said he could barely see her and asked for a close-up, which she did.
Foreman, having gained access to Morton’s Facebook, found that “Josh Black” was also “dating” a fifth girl, who was a student at Warsaw Middle School at the time of the incident. The girl told Foreman that Morton had sent her a message via Facebook in March of 2015. She stated the relationship took on a sexual nature.
On March 13, 2105, Foreman was given access to all five of the girls’ Facebook accounts and began talking to Morton [Black and White], where Morton continued having “cybersex” thinking Foreman was one of the girls he was “dating.”
Foreman found that Morton was friends with Black and White on Facebook. One of the girls that was “dating” White provided Foreman with the phone number of White. Two of the other girls also provided the same number. Foreman obtained a subpoena and found the phone number of Black and White belonged to Morton.
Foreman obtained search warrants from Facebook for the accounts of Black, White and four of the girls. He found the IP address for both Black and White were the same as Morton’s. During the examination of Black’s Facebook account, Foreman found a photograph of an erect penis that appeared to be the same photo sent to four of the girls.
Foreman called the number provided by one of the girls and spoke with a person who identified himself as Morton, who admitted to Foreman he had created the Facebook accounts under the names of Black and White. He also admitted to having sent photos of an erect penis, but said he had obtained the photo online.
Morton admitted he knew it was wrong to send photos and sexual messages to the juvenile females. He said he picked the girls in Warsaw randomly. He admitted he had received nude photos from one of the girls, but had deleted it.
Morton is being held on a $50,000 surety and $250 cash bond.
