Wanda Quarles Swoap, 78, Lapaz, passed away peacefully Friday, June 3, 2016, at home surrounded by friends and family. Wanda was born on Sept. 10, 1937, in South Bend, to the late Andrew Denton Quarles and Cyrene Goss Quarles. She lived part of her life in Texas and part in South Bend. On April 16, 1988, in Deer Park, Texas, Wanda was united in marriage to Davis R. Swoap, who preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 2000.

Wanda is survived by four nieces: Jackie Haenes; Bonnie (Wayne) Bollenbacher; Shari (Roger) Stogsdill; and Debbie Barnhard; two nephews: Danny (Karen) Karszewski; and Larry (Emily) Karszewski; her sister: Patricia Ann Karszewski, South Bend; and her brother: Andrew Delano (Jeannie) Burke, Granger. Once niece: Valerie Gall; and her sister: Barbara J. Driver both preceded Wanda in death.

Wanda worked for El Paso Energy Costal Corportation for 16 years. She was a member of FOE Eagles for 40 years.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, at Palmer Funeral Home-Lakeville Chapel, Lakeville, where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Lakeville.
