WARSAW — Kids and their families fished for fun Saturday morning, June 4, at Center Lake for the annual Kids’ Fishing Derby.

Approximately 35 participants signed up to try their hand at catching the biggest fish of the day. Judging took place in four age groups, including age 2-4, 5-8, 9-12 and 13-26. There was also a grand prize for the biggest fish overall, as well as a casting contest.

Winners were as follows:

Age 2-4: Jaxon Shepherd, 4, first place with a 4.3-ounce fish; Kaydence Fuller, 2, second place; and Raven Leavitt, 6, third place.

Age 5-8: Caydence Shepherd, 5, first place with a 6.6-ounce fish; Kayleigh Fuller, 7, second place; and Augustin Goble, 3, third place.

Age 9-12: Jeremiah Stoller, 12, first place with a 1-pound, 1-ounce fish; NIck Ransbottom, 10, second place; and Madison Wobrock, 9, third place.

Age 13-16: Allison Gonzalez, 13, first place with a 9-pound, 1-ounce fish; Savannah Baez, 13, second place; and Andrew Herbster, 13, third place.

Allison Gonzalez also had the largest fish overall, netting her the grand prize. Winners in the casting contest were Alison Gonzalez, first place; Tanner Stinfer, second place; and Zach Herbster, third place.
