MILFORD — Upcoming programs and events at Milford Public Library:

Summer Reading Program

This year’s reading themes are: “Get in the Game, READ!” for teens, going into sixth grade through graduating seniors, and “On Your Mark, Get Set…READ!” for children, preschool through fifth grade. June 6 is the first day to sign up to participate in the summer reading program. Learn about our events by asking for a Summer Reading Brochure at either circulation desk. The brochure is filled with all the information you need to make plans for a fun and exciting summer. Earn prizes and have fun with your friends while reading books! We love to promote reading and encourage everyone to attend the special events we have planned this yearWith such an active, exhilarating program planned, you will definitely have fun this summer! We hope to see you at the library!

Summer Reading Program Kick-Off: Mr. Jim Cup Stacking

We really want you to join us for our reading program kick-off at 2 p.m., June 8, at the Milford Community Building. Mr Jim will present a program called Sport Cup Stacking. This is a handson program that will build on skills such as coordination, concentration, motivation, determination, perseverance, team-work, and much more. All ages are invited to come. After the show, you can sign up for the Summer Reading Club and get started earning prizes.

Teen Event: Borkholder Archery Demonstration

Teens! Have you ever wanted to learn how to shoot an arrow or about archery? Now is your chance. Join us in the library parking lot at 2 p.m., June 9, as Borkholder Archery comes and demonstrates how to use a bow and arrow. Learn about the safety of archery and get a chance to shoot an arrow yourself. Join us afterwards in the meeting room for refreshments!

Family Summer Story Time: Dance, Dance, Dance

The first Family Summer Story time is at 10 a.m. or 11 a.m, Friday, June 10. Come join Guest Storyteller Maureen Haab as she reads stories about Dance, Dance, Dance.”  Listen to “Brontorina,” by James Howe and other great stories. After Maureen finishes reading, she will have a neat craft and a snack for you to enjoy.  Don’t forget! This summer your family can earn up to eight free books just by attending each of the family summer story times. Families may sign up at the Children’s circulation desk.
