WARSAW — Thursday, May 26, was a day for celebration at Warsaw Community High School during the annual awards ceremony.

Recognition went to the following people in the following categories:

  • OrthoWorx Award Recipient: Neema Patel
  • Prudential Spirit of Community Award: Aaris Jain
  • Optimist Oratorical Contest: Daniel Koshy
  • Valedictorian and Salutatorian: Ethan Cook, valedictorian and Lucas Cone, salutatorian
  • Retiring employees: Joanna Allison, Tom Heiman, Karen Patrick, Gayle Westover, Renatta Erwin, Jim Speicher
  • Going the Extra Mile award: Jeryl Leamon (Support Staff), Betsy Sudhoff (Teacher), Whitney Stapleton (Student)
  • Perfect Attendance Drawing winner: Kodi Holle
  • You Matter Teacher recognition award recipients were David Bailey, Amanda Taylor, Andy Tomasik, Jon McDillon, Shazam Katrib, Nina Ferry, Dena Lancaster, Kathy Williams, Carly Snider, Mike Hall and Renatta Erwin.

Between award presentations, students participated in tug-of-war and a balloon pop.
