
Violet W. Kreager, 93, Cromwell, passed away on May 23, 2016, at the Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born on Nov. 6, 1922 to Bernard and Mary (Sullivan) Dyer in Southern. She married Jacob Kreager on June 8, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1988.
Violet was a very active member in her community. She was a resident of Cromwell for almost 70 years. Some of the clubs she belonged to would be the following; The Ligonier Chapter of Eastern Star, Ladies American Legion Auxiliary of Cromwell and for many years she was a Cub Scout Leader of Troop #110. Violet really enjoyed reading romance novels, spending time with her poodles and was a founding member of the Stone’s Hill Community Church.
She will be dearly missed by her son: Jerry (Deedra) Kreager of Lafayette; two grandsons: Matt (Dylan) Kreager, Ligonier; Tom (Kelly) Kreager, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and eight great grandchildren: Jacob and Micah Kreager, Macy and Taylor Coney and Derek and Logan Caskey; Austin and AubreeViolet Kreager.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jacob, and her parents; Bernard and Mary Dyer.
A funeral service will be held in Violet’s honor on Friday, May 27 at 10:30 a.m. at Stone’s Hill Community Church – 151 West Stones Hill Rd., Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor Joey Nelson will officiate. Family and friends may gather from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, as well as from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at the Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier following the service.
