Accidents
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:

  • Monday, Sept. 10, 2:42 p.m. 2557 U.S. 30, Warsaw. Driver: Steven B. Hunsberger, 62, SR 19, Etna Green. Hunsberger’s foot slipped off the brake causing his van to lurch forward and collide with the building of Aunt Millie’s Bakery. Damages: up to $10,000
  • Monday, Sept. 10, 12:53 p.m. North Broadway Street, Mentone. Drivers: Lois M. Miller, 80, Milllers Drive, Mentone; and Dixie S. Secrist, 71, South 1000 West, Mentone. Miller was attempting to enter Broadway Street from a parking spot and entered into the path of Secrist’s vehicle. Damages: up to $5,000
  • Monday, Sept. 10, 11:41 a.m. North SR 13, Warsaw. Driver: Donna R. Runkle, 65, CR 1000 South, Warren, Ind. Runkle hit a dog. Damages: less than $1,000
  • Monday, Sept. 11, 7:30 p.m. East McClintic Road and North 800 East, Syracuse. Driver: Maria L. Sutton, 26, East 200 North, Warsaw. Sutton was westbound on McClintic Road and unable to see a curve due to bright sunlight. Damages: up to $2,500
  • Tuesday, Sept. 11, 7:18 a.m. U.S. 30 and South 900 East, Pierceton. Drivers: Taylor O. Zwick, 17, East 150 South, Pierceton; and Kraig A. Norris, 43, South Long Pine Road, Columbia City. Zwick failed to see the Norris vehicle, which was traveling east on U.S. 30, and crossed into his path. All parties refused medical treatment. Damages: up to $10,000

  • Wednesday, Sept. 12, 3:55 a.m. Jason Waddle of North Deer Run, Warsaw, reported criminal mischief.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 12, 3:55 a.m. Jack Harrell of North Deer Run, Warsaw, reported a theft.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 12, 3:55 a.m. Terri Michele Holland, North Bird View Drive, Warsaw, reported a theft.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 12, 10:28 a.m. Patti Miner, West Main Street, Warsaw, reported a theft.
  • Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2:57 a.m. A Chapman Lake Drive resident reported being battered.
  • Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2:59 a.m. A Syracuse woman reported being battered.
  • Tuesday, Sept. 11, 11:18 p.m. Police were called for a citizen’s assist at 110 S. Main St., Claypool.
  • Tuesday, Sept. 11, 12:15 a.m. A rape was reported.
  • Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2:39 a.m. Shirley Butts of Pierceton filed a report.
  • Monday, Sept. 10, 11 a.m. Robert Seeger, 53, Chapman Lake Drive, Warsaw, reported a burglary.
  • Monday, Sept. 10, 11:17 a.m. Deidra Melonie Allen reported a breaking and entering occurred in North Manchester.
  • Monday, Sept. 10, 11:55 a.m. A missing person was reported.
  • Monday, Sept. 10, 1:15 p.m. Charlotte Jessie of East Fox Run Drive, Syracuse, reported criminal trespassing.
  • Monday, Sept. 10, 4:25 p.m. Laci Rae Harper of East Center Street reported being the victim of invasion of privacy.
  • Monday, Sept. 10, 7:10 a.m. Dana Knisley reported an unlawful entry at a residence on EMS D21A Lane, Syracuse.
  • Monday, Sept. 10, 6:42 p.m. Timmothy Barrett reported a theft of motor vehicle parts at 202 W. Van Buren St., Leesburg.
  • Monday, Sept. 10, Melissa Miller of Mentone reported being harassment over the computer.
