Wawasee Baseball: Warriors Trip Up Chargers
WAWASEE – The Wawasee baseball team ended a seven-game skid Saturday morning, stepping out of conference to defeat West Noble 6-1.
West Noble opened with a run in the first, but Wawasee responded with single runs in the third, fourth and a four-spot in the fifth. The Warriors pounded out 11 hits, led by a 4-4 day from Jamie Slabaugh, who doubled and drove in a run.
Spencer Prescott was 2-3 with two RBIs and a run scored, and Rylan Kuhn added a run and RBI.
Gavin Bontrager went the distance for Wawasee, allowing just four hits and striking out seven.
Wawasee moves to 5-16-1 with a visit to Goshen on Monday next on the slate.
Wawasee (5-13) won the JV game over West Noble 18-8.
